Rajanna Movie Review

STORY:
Rajanna is a story based on real life incidents that took place in Telangana in the 50’s. While India got the freedom from the British Raj, the people in Telangana were not free. The reason is that Hyderabad state was still under the Nizam rule. The Nizam along with his private army harassed the poor people. The rich landlords too conspire with the Razakars to keep the people in poverty and bondage.

The movie is set in the early 1950′s in the village of Nelakondapalli in Adilabad district. The entire story revolves around the lives of Rajanna ( Nagarjuna ) and his daughter Mallamma (Annie) and the sacrifices they make for the good of the people. Mallamma loses both her parents (Nagarjuna and Sneha) in her childhood.
The girl has a passion to sing and that has been strongly opposed by the Dorasani of the village as she feels that her songs have some intense emotion which can turn the entire village against her. But, poor girl couldn’t stop singing and as a result the dorasani kills the old man, locks the girl inside the house and set it ablaze. The girl escapes the mishap with the help of a music teacher and makes her way to Delhi to meet the then Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru to complain against the atrocities of dorasani.
But she is pursued by Dorasani and her people even in Delhi. As she loses all hope, the story of Rajanna and his heroic struggle for the people of Nelakondapalli is narrated to Mallamma by her music teacher (Nasser).  A valiant freedom fighter Rajanna (Nagarjuna) awakens the people with his patriotic songs. He is a balladeer and his songs give confidence to the people to rise and fight. However, Rajanna is killed.
What does an inspired Mallamma do? Will she finally get to meet Nehru and solve the problems of her people?  What happens next is the basis for the remaining part of the story.

  1. only people who are grown up mentally can feel, experience n learn from such a great film. for others, there r 99% movies in the last decade which r formula meaningless films (cheap comedy senseless fights stupid stories n movie taking masala calculated routine scenes not pure n unreal=success) (including many nag films). film industry is dying because of those films which majority of people like u watch. for example comedy is something which we do in real life like great comedian relangi does. now-a-days,comedy is cheap, unreal. majority of the people cry over every small things in life in their profession n home n outside.this movie tells anybody can fight any kind of problems n overcome it,n live life in only a way it should be lived. any other way is not living at all
